Coffee Culture, Llandudno, 2010 winners

Coffee Culture in Llandudno emerge once again as winners of the Fair Trade Cuppa Poll in 2011!

They previously won in 2010.

Votes were collected from this website, from an online poll on walescooperative.org, text voting and from postcards.

The top five Fair Trade cafés and other catering outlets of 2011 are:

  3. Red Café, Mumbles
  4. The Herb Garden, Llandrindod Wells
  5. Embassy Café, Cardiff

    Arriva Trains Wales serve Fairtrade tea and coffee on their long distance services Milford Haven to Manchester and Cardiff to Holyhead.

    So satisfying havign a cup of fairtrade tea while whizzing through the Welsh countryside on a train!

    Best cuppa I have had recently was from the The Coffee Machine which was a small van parked at Cardiff Riding School last Saturday afternoon. It was fair trade, organic and fantastic inspite of being in a paper cup.

    The most reliable cuppa in Cardiff is Chapter Art Centre’s. Never had a bad one and Fairtrade too.

    The cafe opposite my shop in Newcastle Emlyn sells wonderful organic Fairtrade coffee, so Pachamama Bistro and Coffee Shop gets my vote. They even deliver to we local traders, in a proper cup, that’s what I call service!

    I would like to vote for the Morrisons in Haverfordwest which has fair trade tea, coffee and chocolate on offer. I always have the earl grey which is great value as you can get two cups out of a pot. Thanks Morrisons

    Very friendly staff, always knowledgeable about fairtrade goods and the food is also reasonable and family friendly. They also sell a wide range of ethical, organic and fair trade goods.

    I nominate the Herb Garden Cafe in Llandrindod Wells, where everything is of high quality, not just the Fairtrade products. Friendly staff, wonderful specials, completely wheelchair accessible especially the new loo I can now get into. Wonderful.

    I would like to vote for the Herb Garden Cafe in Llandrindod Wells, Powys. The food is always extraordinary. The staff are all wonderful. All the food is locally grown, mostly organic, cooked to perfection. The soups are to die for. Wonderful atmosphere. What more could you ask for?     Another vote for the Herb Garden in Llandrindod! People come from far and wide to enjoy the coffee, cakes and freshly prepared meals – and especially the famed raspberry roulade which even has sheep queuing at the door.(They leave with Red Noses.)

    I have for the last few months passed through Llandrindod Wells on most Saturdays on my way to visit my son in that area of Mid Wales.A friend of mine told me about The Herb Garden so,i dropped in on one occasion and found it a very pleasant place to stop on a journey for a break.I now stop there every time I take this route and have found it the best place to have a cuppa.The food is excellant (try the home made chutney)and the staff are friendly and polite.Well worth a stop on anyones journey.

    Being a man who loves his coffee i can say without question the best caffeine fix i’ve had, and have on a regular basis, comes from the Herb Garden in Llandrindod Wells.

    Not only does the café offer a fantastic Fairtrade cuppa, but they support so many local growers and organisations. The food on offer daily is fresh and truly brilliant, the staff friendly and the entire atmosphere so warm and welcoming i look at it as a home from home!

    The Herb Garden Llandrindod Wells is more of an institution than a Café, entirely befitting of my nomination. x

    I wish to vote for The Herb Garden in Llandrindod Wells. Always welcoming, lovely staff and best of all their delicious fair trade coffee. Don’t worry if you can’t have dairy because soya milk is always available.
